A newborn baby was found in the rubbish and then saved by Afrika Tikkun’s health care worker- Shaheeda Davids.
Shocked residents found the boy in the bottom of a wheelie-bin covered in maggots, wearing only a dirty nappy. Shaheeda Davids, 53, was one of the first people to respond to Jordan’s cries coming from a bin in Commodore Street in The Hague, Delft.
The seven-day-old baby has been named Jordan, and cops are now on the hunt for the mother of the little baby boy. Shaheeda said she named the baby Jordan after Jordan-Leigh Norton who was brutally murdered inside her Lansdowne home in June 2005 in a planned hit. She explained that when she picked the baby up, the maggots were walking all over him. She took the baby home and when she started washing him, he opened his eyes. It was like he was saying thank you.
Another resident Elaine Williams, 52, and Shaheeda have since started collecting clothing for the baby, and she hopes social workers will place the child in her care.
